The Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, Inc. was proud to partner with the Maryland State Bar Association for a Women’s History Month presentation titled, “Resilient Voices, Enduring Impact”.

Our Program began with a presentation by Professor Lisa Mebane, Managing Director of the Center for Dispute Resolution and the Women, Leadership & Equality Program at the University of Maryland School of Law on “Women Who Have Broken the Glass Ceiling: Next Steps and Relevance of Gender in the Law”.

Our Featured Speaker, Amanda Lee (Costley), Esq., CPC, The Lee Consultants, presented “A Hidden Crisis? The Impact of Domestic Violence in the Legal Profession and Its Ethical Implications”.

Sefa Mawuli, CFP, Managing Partner, Jade & Cowry, and Tacy Paul Roby, CFP, Senior Wealth Advisor, TriBridge Partners Financial, presented a “Blueprint for Financial Security for Women Lawyers at Every Career Stage”.

After the presentations, the attendees participated in Mentorship Roundtables focused on Negotiating Compensation and Benefits and Polishing Your LinkedIn.

Our afternoon concluded with a Community Service “Happy Hour” where the attendees made “birthday kits” to benefit women in Prince George’s County through the incredible work of SHE Suite, a community resource hub run by Tamika Paige, Latoya Burch and Latoya Ball.

Thank you to all who attended, presented, and participated. On behalf of the WBA and the MSBA, we extend a special thanks to our event sponsor, McNamee Hosea!
