The Women’s Bar Association of Maryland was proud to support last night’s panel discussion, “The LGBTQ+ Legal Landscape: Navigating the New Normal,” hosted in collaboration with the LGBTQ+ Bar Association of Maryland, the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, and the Monumental City Bar Association. The program brought together distinguished members of the bench and bar to explore evolving legal issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.

Thoughtfully moderated by Rob Daniels of the LGBTQ+ Bar Association, the discussion was insightful and engaging. His warm and inviting approach, along with his personal rapport with the panelists, helped create an open and candid conversation on these important issues.

Panelists Hon. Ana D. Hernandez, Lauren Pruitt, Esq., Hon. E. Gregory Wells, Summer Abel, Esq., Debra B. Cruz, Esq., and Hon. Mark Scurti discussed topics including assisted reproduction and embryo disposition disputes, second-parent adoptions, the importance of LGBTQ+ education within the judiciary, and the implications of John Doe v. Catholic Relief Services. The discussion highlighted the ongoing need for informed advocacy and thoughtful judicial engagement.

Thank you to the outstanding panelists and partner organizations for an important and timely conversation.
